Stoking the Fire of Showing up

Thanks to Halloween and my astrological narratives, my mind has turned to thoughts of fire in recent days. I had a blast embodying it for the holiday, and I'm letting its energy carry me through the coming days.

In fact, as a coach, I crafted a life purpose statement a couple of years ago that holds even more true now: I am the Olympic torch that ignites changemakers to launch their personal uprisings. Running with that torch means that I too have to keep the fire blazing.

If you haven't heard, I've decided to give up ensemble singing after the 21-22 season at the Metropolitan Opera. Why? I help emerging leaders who want to make a significant impact for the world. That kind of passion for change deserves my full attention and devotion.

In that spirit, I started to build my bonfire, adding to it every weekday as of yesterday. Like I did in my blog a decade ago, I'm showing up every weekday for the foreseeable future to write or post - this time, about something relating to my business. Something I'm doing where I get out of my comfort zone and dare to step up and make change.

I’ve considered trying LinkedIn Live for months, and yesterday I did my first one, dispelling myths about confidence (look for that weekly!). Today, I attended my second meeting of a weekly challenge to focus on reaching my next three coaching clients with my message. I’m learning to go back to basics and honestly engage the people I want to serve. Hopefully, you’ll continue to see my development in my posts.

What's your fire? What passion flickers and simmers, waiting to be stoked? What if you took one step today and the next (no matter how small) towards something you really want?

I'll meet you there. Let's aim for thriving and ignite our goals, together.
